Grow environment: We initiate our mushroom cultivation process with substrate block inoculation in our laboratory. Using HEPA-filtered positive air pressure, we create a pristine clean room environment. Once inoculated, we transfer the blocks to our temperature-controlled incubation room, allowing the mushroom spores to colonize the substrate bags.
The final growth stage commences once the bags are fully colonized. At this point, we move them into our fruiting rooms, where we maintain the ideal conditions for the various fruiting stages. Our facilities include a dedicated 10’x12’ fruiting room and a 4’x8’ grow tent at our cozy indoor farm in Murrieta, CA.
Constituents: We only use a few ingredients during the whole process: Organic Millet, high quality hardwood sawdust (sourced from whole trees to minimize contamination possibilities), organic soy bean shells and purified water. We do not use any pesticides or any chemicals in our growing processes.
Organic farming: As a business, we prioritize organic, natural, non-GMO, and locally sourced materials from like-minded partners who share our values. Our growing practices are considered organicly even though we are not Certified Organic.
How we grow our Mushrooms

How We Grow
Labratory
The laboratory is a testament to our scientific approach to mushroom farming, ensuring that every mushroom we grow starts from a healthy, robust spawn. Welcome to the birthplace of our mushrooms!
Hygiene and Sterility: This space is meticulously maintained under strict hygienic conditions, reflecting our commitment to quality and safety. We wear protective gear (gloves, lab coats, hair net and sometimes face masks) at all times in the laboratory.
Spawn: Spawn serves as the lifeblood of mushroom growth. It acts as the “seed” from which mushrooms emerge. We use organic millet or organic rye berries. These grains provide a nutritious base for mycelium growth.
Inoculation: We introduce a specific mushroom culture (species or strain) to the spawn substrate. The mycelium then colonizes the grains, forming a network of interconnected threads.
Mycology Research: We delve into mycology to understand mushroom life cycles, nutritional needs, and environmental factors as we grow more and more beautiful mushrooms.

How We Grow
Incubation
Welcome to our incubation room—a critical space in our mushroom cultivation process. Here, we focus on fostering mycelial growth and preparing up to 200 substrate blocks for the next stage.
Purpose: The incubation room serves as a controlled environment for mycelium to colonize the substrate. It’s where we encourage the growth of the vegetative part of the fungus.
Substrate: Rows of blocks containing various substrate compositions infused with mycelium. The substrate mix is based on the particular strain that we want to grow. Our Oysters and Chestnuts for example grow on the well known MastersMix composed of 50% organic soy hulls and 50% Oak sawdust pellets. Most of our other strains grow on a mix of hardwood and wheat bran.
Monitoring: We check progress regularly. Is the mycelium fully colonizing the blocks? Are there signs of contamination? Vigilance ensures successful outcomes. Mycelium growth takes time. We patiently wait for the network of threads to spread throughout the substrate.

How We Grow
Fruiting Stage
After the incubation process, when the substrate blocks are fully colonized by mycelium, they are carefully moved to the fruiting room. This transition marks a critical phase—the moment when the mycelium prepares to bear fruit. Here, under specific light, temperature, and humidity conditions, the mushrooms begin their growth, eventually producing the beautiful and delicious varieties we offer.
This room symbolizes the culmination of our careful cultivation process and our commitment to delivering the best quality mushrooms to you.
Ideal Environment: Our fruiting room is meticulously designed to mimic the natural conditions that trigger mushroom growth. We use shelves and racks to maximize space while ensuring adequate airflow around each block.
Hygiene and Sterility: We regularly sanitize all surfaces, including shelves, floors and walls in our fruiting room. We wear disposable gloves and respirators when handling the substrate blocks and sterilize any tools used during harvesting.
Quality Control and Observation: We regularly inspect your mushrooms for uniform growth and vibrant colors. Removed are any malformed or contaminated mushrooms. We keep detailed records of environmental conditions and any observations during growth.

How We Grow
Harvesting
Harvesting: When the mushrooms reach their desired size and maturity, it’s time to harvest. We use a sharp knife or scissors to cut them at the base. Appreciating the beauty of each variety—their unique shapes, colors, and textures.
Quality Control: growth.
